Beer Background, Wrestling Beginnings (1:46)
Domino helped run and open Union Beer Store in Little Havana, which was recognized as one of the top craft beer bars in the country. It was also named the best bar in Miami by Yelp in 2022. Domino left the bar in January to work on a secret project he hopes to reveal later in the summer. Unfortunately, Union Beer Store closed after seven successful years, following his partner’s move to North Carolina. The bar, which had a wrestling theme, also hosted wrestling shows. Domino’s involvement at Union, including running shows like the ICW anniversary event, played a key role in his journey toward becoming a professional wrestler.
On Event Involving His Mother (19:04)
Domino discussed an incident where a fan threw a beer, which led to a chaotic situation where his mom was pushed and fell. He emphasized that crossing the line by putting hands on his family is unacceptable, and he plans to handle it personally. Despite the negative experience, Domino expressed that it motivated him to bring out a new, more intense side of himself in wrestling. He now views his journey as more personal, using the incident as fuel to push his career forward. Domino is prepared to handle any challenges, especially in situations with no rules, like his upcoming event on July 6th.
Advocating For Mental Health (42:11)
Domino has been advocating for mental health for around five years, largely due to his brother’s diagnosis of bipolar, paranoid schizophrenia. His brother has faced numerous mental health crises, including multiple Baker Acts, with the most recent incidents occurring within the last few months. Domino expressed a deep desire for his brother to see him wrestle, as it was something they both loved growing up, but acknowledged it may never happen. He uses this personal experience as fuel to make his success in wrestling inevitable, aiming to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
On His Tenacity in Achieving Goals (49:42)
Domino shared his tendency to obsess over goals, refusing to stop until he achieves them. This was evident when he transitioned from HR to opening Union, a project he obsessed over and successfully built, even without culinary experience. His work earned accolades like the Miami Herald voting it the best panko mite in Miami. Domino applied the same obsessive drive to mental health advocacy, using his hospitality network to push it forward. Similarly, in wrestling, he is focused on creating his “five-star era,” vowing not to stop until he sees his goals fulfilled.
