Backbreakers and Bites
Episode Thirteen – Blake “Bulletproof” Troop
In this episode:
In today’s episode we have pro MMA fighter, commentator and NWA pro wrestler Blake “Bulletproof” Troop.
While Blake’s journey currently has him wrestling with NWA and doing commentary for several notable promotions such as Lights Out XF and Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, Blake is a longtime veteran of the MMA game. Blake came up through the SoCal MMA renaissance, splitting time working with On The Mat and training at Blackhouse.
Blake chose LoveBird in Lakeland, a local fried chicken spot to serve as our backdrop for the episode. “LoveBird is inspired by our southern culture’s love for food, music, and community. Our mission is to create an environment where high-quality, scratch made recipes are served in a laid back environment with a bit of southern shine. We’ve put a lot of thought into making a great little restaurant you’d want to hang out in. A dive without the dive. Indoor and outdoor seating, a sick little beer selection—you know, your kind of place. Don’t feel up to hanging out in person? Get it to go. We just want to make it as easy as possible for you to get some of our Almost Famous Chicken®.”
Topics in this episode of the podcast include Blake’s roots and time in SoCal, how he developed his Bulletproof brand, his current career in NWA and even has some surprising stories sprinkled in, notably a story about “brushing shoulders” with NSYNC’s Joey Fatone. Tune in and discover some new food and a little insight into Blake you won’t find anywhere else.
